Research Paper: Online Visual Communication

I wrote a paper which provides a broad-based socio-cultural look on the current visual mediascape with regards to people and interactions in the digital sphere. Specifically, I discuss the emoji as a visualised socio-normative present, the emoji as self identity, the meme as remix, and the meme as protest. I am interested in the social-cultural significance of these visual communication tools based on everyday use.
